Prince Saud Bin Mishal, president of the Cricket Federation in Saudi Arabia, has expressed interest in developing close relations with Bangladesh cricket. On Wednesday (July 26), the ambassador of Bangladesh appointed to Saudi Arabia in Riyadh. He expressed this interest in a meeting with Mohammad Javed Patwari BPM (Bar).
In view of Prince Saud Bin Mishal’s interest, Ambassador Mohammad Javed Patwari BPM (Bar) said that cricket is a very popular game in Bangladesh and Bangladesh has long experience and technical capabilities in this game. Referring to Bangladesh’s experience and success in playing T20, ODI and Test cricket, he said that Bangladesh is ready for sincere cooperation.
When Prince Michal expressed his various long-term plans to promote cricket in Saudi Arabia, the ambassador invited the Saudi Cricket Federation to visit Bangladesh and visit the cricket environment, training, and cricket ground for a detailed discussion on how Bangladesh can cooperate with Saudi Arabia in implementing it. And to strengthen bilateral cooperation on cricket between the two brotherly countries, the ambassador suggested the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Cricket Federation.
Prince Saud Bin Mishal expressed his fascination by watching the documentary about the recent development of Bangladesh in various fields through social media. In the meeting, he expressed his interest in learning about Bangladesh’s history, economy, social development and other issues. The ambassador portrayed the improvement in all aspects of Bangladesh and said that Bangladesh is working to implement the vision led by the Prime Minister to become a high-income country by 2041. Prince Michal expressed his interest in visiting Bangladesh and meeting the Prime Minister in the coming days.
In the meeting, the Saudi Cricket Federation expressed interest in organizing various cricket events with Bangladeshi immigrants living in Saudi Arabia. Also, the Saudi Cricket Federation mentions the organization of various events including training, talent hunt, cricket competition with the students of Bangladesh Community School in Saudi Arabia. Federation mentions cooperation in organizing cricket events in Saudi Arabia on various national days of Bangladesh.
Saudi Cricket Federation Vice Chairman Nawaf Moeed Al Otaibi, Chief Executive Officer Tariq Sagya were present in the meeting.
